MENGHUKUM BAYANG-BAYANG

Seorang lelaki telah bermimpi menggauli seorang perempuan di dalam tidurnya sehingga junub. Dia merasa puas dan bangga walaupun hanya bermimpi. Kebetulan pula perempuan yang dimimpikan itu sudah punya anak lelaki yang sudah dewasa. Maka pergilah dia kepada anak lelaki itu dan memberitahukan mimpinya.

"Aku bermimpi telah berjunub bersama ibumu." kata lelaki yang bermimpi.

Anak lelaki itu marah-marah kerana merasa lelaki yang bermimpi itu telah mencabuli ibunya.

"Kalau begitu engkau telah berbuat jahat, engkau mesti dihukum." kata anak lelaki itu membela ibunya.

"Aku kan hanya bermimpi....."

Kedua-dua lelaki itu bertengkar yang berkepanjangan. Yang bermimpi mengatakan tidak bersalah, sedang anak kepada perempuan yang dimimpikan menganggapnya salah. Akhirnya merek membawa masaalahnya kepada Ali bin Abi Talib untuk mencari keadilan.

"Lelaki ini mengaku telah bermimpi menggauli ibuku."

"Betulkah itu?" tanya Ali.

"Betul." jawab lelaki yang bermimpi.

"Dia mesti dihukum kerana telah berbuat jahat."

"Aku hanya bermimpi..."

"Baiklah, engkau bawa lelaki yang bermimpi ini dan berdirikan di bawah sinar matahari. Kemudian kau pukullah bayang-bayangnya." kata Ali bin Abi Talib.

Orang yang Suka Naik Darah

ORANG YANG SUKA NAIK DARAH

Setelah bertahun-tahun lamanya, seorang yang sangat mudah marah menyedari bahawa ia sering mendapat kesusahan kerana sifatnya itu. Pada suatu hari, ia mendengar tentang seorang darwis yang berpengetahuan tingi lalu ia terus menemuinya untuk mendapatkan nasihat.

Darwis itu berkata, "Pergilah ke suatu tempat, disana kamu akan menemui sebatang pohon mati. Berdirilah di bawahnya dan lakukan satu kebajikan dengan memberi air kepada sesiapa yang lalu di depanmu."

Orang itu menjalankan nasihat tersebut. Hari demi hari berlalu, dan ia pun dikenal ramai sebagai orang yang mengikut sesuatu latihan kebaikan hati dan pengendalian diri di bawah perintah seorang yang berpengetahuan dalam.

Pada suatu hari, ada seorang yang lalu disitu dalam keadaan tergesa-gesa, ia memalingkan mukanya ketika ditawarkan air dan meneruskan perjalanannya. Orang yang mudah naik darah itu pun memanggilnya berulang kali, "Hai, balas salam aku! Minumlah air yang aku sediakan ini, yang aku khaskan untuk sekelian musafir yang lalu di sini."

Namun, tiada jawapan dari orang yang lalu tadi. Kerana sifatnya yang dahulu, orang yang mudah naik darah itu tidak dapat lagi menguasai dirinya. Ia lalu mengambil senjatanya dan terus di kejar dan dibunuhnya orang yang lalu tadi. Pada masa orang itu rebah meninggal dunia, pohon yang mati disitu, bagaikan suatu keajaiban, tiba-tiba penuh berbunga.

Sebenarnya, orang yang baru dibunuh itu adalah seorang pembunuh. Ia sedang dalam perjalanan untuk melaksanakan satu kejahatan yang paling mengerikan dalam sejarah kehidupannya.

Jadi, disini ada dua jenis nasihat. Pertama adalah penasihat yang memberitahu tentang apa yang harus dilakukan sesuai dengan aturan-aturan yang pasti, yang diulang-ulang secara teratur. Kedua adalah manusia berpengetahuan. Mereka yang bertemeu dengan manusia yang berpengetahuan akan meminta nasihat moral dan menganggapnya sebagai moralis. Namun yang diabadikannya adalah kebenaran, bukan harapan-harapan soleh.

Kisah Unta

KISAH UNTA MEMATAHKAN RANCANGAN ABU JAHAL UNTUK MEMBUNUH RASULULLAH SHALLALLAHU ALAIHI WA SALLAM

Setelah pelbagai usaha oleh kaum Quraisy untuk menyekat dan menghapuskan penyebaran agama Islam menemui kegagalan, maka Abu Jahal semakin benci terhadap Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. Kebencian Abu Jahal ini tidak ada tolok bandingnya, malah melebihi kebencian Abu Lahab terhadap Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

Melihatkan agama Islam semakin tersebar, Abu Jahal pun berkata kepada kaum Quraisy di dalam suatu perhimpunan, "Hai kaumku! Janganlah sekali-kali membiarkan Muhammad menyebarkan ajaran barunya dengan sesuka hatinya. Ini adalah kerana dia telah menghina agama nenek moyang kita, dia mencela tuhan yang kita sembah. Demi Tuhan, aku berjanji kepada kamu sekalian, bahwa esok aku akan membawa batu ke Masjidil Haram untuk dibalingkan ke kepala Muhammad ketika dia sujud. Selepas itu, terserahlah kepada kamu semua samada mahu menyerahkan aku kepada keluarganya atau kamu membela aku dari ancaman kaum kerabatnya. Biarlah orang-orang Bani Hasyim bertindak apa yang mereka sukai."

Tatkala mendengar jaminan daripada Abu Jahal, maka orang ramai yang menghadiri perhimpunan itu berkata secara serentak kepadanya, "Demi Tuhan, kami tidak akan sekali-kali menyerahkan engkau kepada keluarga Muhammad. Teruskan niatmu."

Orang ramai yang menghadiri perhimpunan itu merasa bangga mendengar kata-kata yang diucapkan oleh Abu Jahal bahwa dia akan menghapuskan Muhammad kerana jika Abu Jahal berjaya menghapuskan Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam bererti akan terhapuslah segala keresahan dan kesusahan mereka selama ini yang disebabkan oleh kegiatan Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam menyebarkan agama Islam di kalangan mereka.

Dalam pada itu, terdapat juga para hadirin di situ telah mengira-ngira perbelanjaan untuk mengadakan pesta sekiranya Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam berjaya dihapuskan. Pada pandangan mereka adalah mudah untuk membunuh Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam yang dikasihi oleh Tuhan Yang Maha Esa serta sekalian penghuni langit. Padahal Allah tidak akan sekali-kali membiarkan kekasih-Nya diancam dan diperlakukan seperti binatang.

Dengan perasaan bangga, keesokan harinya di sebelah pagi, Abu Jahal pun terus pergi ke Kaabah iaitu tempat biasa Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam bersembahyang. Dengan langkahnya seperti seorang satria, dia berjalan dengan membawa seketul batu besar di tangan sambil diiringi oleh beberapa orang Quraisy yang rapat dengannya. Tujuan dia mengajak kawan-kawannya ialah untuk menyaksikan bagaimana nanti dia akan menghempapkan batu itu di atas kepala Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

Sepanjang perjalanan itu dia membayangkan bagaimana keadaan Nabi Muhammad nanti setelah kepalanya dihentak oleh batu itu. Dia tersenyum sendirian apabila membayangkan kepala Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam pecah dan tidak bergerak lagi. Dan juga membayangkan bagaimana kaum Quraisy akanmenyambutnya sebagai pahlawan yang telah berjaya membunuh musuh nombor satu mereka.

Sebaik saja Abu Jahal tiba di perkarangan Masjidil Haram, dilihatnya Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam baru saja sampai dan hendak mengerjakan sembahyang. Dalam pada itu, Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam tidak menyedari akan kehadiran Abu Jahal dan kawan-kawannya di situ. Baginda tidak pernah terfikir apa yang hendak dilakukan oleh Abu Jahal terhadap dirinya pada hari itu.

Sebaik-baik saja Abu Jahal melihat Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam telah mula bersembahyang, dia berjalan perlahan-lahan dari arah belakang menuju ke arah Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. Abu Jahal melangkah dengan berhati-hati, setiap pergerakannya dijaga, takut disadari oleh baginda.

Dari jauh kawan-kawan Abu Jahal memerhatikan dengan perasaan cemas bercampur gembira. Dalam hati mereka berkata, "Kali ini akan musnahlah engkau hai Muhammad."

Sebaik saja Abu Jahal hendak menghampiri Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam dan menghayun batu yang dipegangnya itu, tiba-tiba secepat kilat dia berundur ke belakang. Batu yang dipegangnya juga jatuh ke tanah. Mukanya yang tadi merah kini menjadi pucat lesi seolah-olah tiada berdarah lagi. Rakan-rakannya yang amat ghairah untuk melihat Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam terbunuh, tercengang dan saling berpandangan.

Kaki Abu Jahal seolah-olah terpaku ke bumi. Dia tidak dapat melangkahkan kaki walaupun setapak. Melihatkan keadaan itu, rakan-rakannya segera menarik Abu Jahal dari situ sebelum disadari oleh baginda. Abu Jahal masih terpinga-pinga dengan kejadian yang dialaminya.
Sebaik saja dia sedar dari kejutan peristiwa tadi, rakan-rakannya tidak sabar untuk mengetahui apakah sebenarnya yang telah berlaku. Kawannya bertanya, "Apakah sebenarnya yang terjadi kepada engkau, Abu Jahal? Mengapa engkau tidak menghempapkan batu itu ke kepala Muhammad ketika dia sedang sujud tadi?"

Akan tetapi Abu Jahal tetap membisu, rakan-rakannya semakin keheranan. Abu Jahal yang mereka kenali selama ini seorang yang lantang berpidato dan menyumpah seranah Nabi Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, tiba-tiba saja diam membisu.

Dalam pada itu, Abu Jahal masih terbayang-bayang akan kejadian yang baru menimpanya tadi. Dia seolah-olah tidak percaya dengan apa yang dilihatnya, malah dia sendiri tidak menyangka perkara yang sama akan berulang menimpa dirinya.

Perkara yang sama pernah menimpa Abu Jahal sewaktu Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam pergi ke rumah Abu Jahal apabila seorang Nasrani mengadu kepada baginda bahwa Abu Jahal telah merampas hartanya. Pada masa itu Abu Jahal tidak berani berkata apa-apa pada baginda apabila dia terpandang dua ekor harimau menjadi pengawal peribadi Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

Kemudian setelah habis mereka menghujani Abu Jahal dengan pelbagai soalan, maka Abu Jahal pun mula bersuara, "Wahai sahabatku! Untuk pengetahuan kamu semua, sebaik saja aku menghampiri Muhammad hendak menghempapkan batu itu ke kepalanya, tiba-tiba muncul seekor unta yang besar hendak menendang aku. Aku amat terkejut kerana belum pernah melihat unta yang sebegitu besar seumur hidupku. Sekiranya aku teruskan niatku, nescaya akan matilah aku ditendang oleh unta itu, sebab itulah aku berundur dan membatalkan niatku."
Rakan-rakan Abu Jahal berasa amat kecewa mendengar penjelasan itu, mereka tidak menyangka orang yang selama ini gagah dan beria-ia hendak membunuh Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam hanya tinggal kata-kata saja. Orang yang selama ini diharapkan boleh menghapuskan Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam dan pengaruhnya hanya berupaya bercakap seperti tin kosong saja.

Setelah mendengar penjelasan dari Abu Jahal yang tidak memuaskan hati itu, maka mereka pun berkata kepada Abu Jahal dengan perasaan keheranan, "Ya Abu Jahal, semasa kau menghampiri Muhammad tadi, kami memerhatikan engkau dari jauh tetapi kai tidak napak akan unta yang engkau katakan itu. Malah bayangnya pun kami tidak nampak."

Rakan-rakan Abu Jahal mula sangsi dengan segala keterangan yang diberikan oleh Abu Jahal. Mereka menyangka Abu Jahal sentiasa mereka-reka cerita yang karut itu, mereka mula hilang kepercayaan terhadapnya. Akhirnya segala kata-kata Abu Jahal mereka tidak berapa endahkan lagi.

Kisah Si Pemalas dengan Abu Hanifah

KISAH SI PEMALAS DENGAN ABU HANIFAH

Suatu hari ketika Imam Abu Hanifah sedang berjalan-jalan melalui sebuah rumah yang jenelanya masih terbuka, terdengar oleh beliau suara orang yang mengeluh dan menangis tersedu-sedu. Keluhannya mengandungi kata-kata, "Aduhai, alangkah malangnya nasibku ini, agaknya tiada sesiapa pun yang lebih malang dari nasibku yang celaka ini. Sejak dari pagi lagi belum datang sesuap nasi atau makanan pun di kerongkongku sehingga seluruh badanku menjadi lemah longlai. Oh, manakah hati yang belas ikhsan yang sudi memberi curahan air walaupun setitik."

Mendengar keluhan itu, Abu Hanifah berasa kasihan lalu beliau pun balik ke rumahnya dan mengambil bungkusan hendak diberikan kepada orang itu. Sebaik sahaja dia sampai ke rumah orang itu, dia terus melemparkan bungkusan yang berisi wang kepada si malang tadi lalu meneruskan perjalanannya.

Dalam pada itu, si malang berasa terkejut setelah mendapati sebuah bungkusan yang tidak diketahui dari mana datangnya, lantas beliau tergesa-gesa membukanya. Setelah dibuka, nyatalah bungkusan itu berisi wang dan secebis kertas yang bertulis, "Hai manusia, sungguh tidak wajar kamu berkeluh kesan sedemikian itu, kamu tidak pernah atau perlu mengeluh diperuntungkan nasibmu. Ingatlah kepada kemurahan Allah dan cublah bermohon kepada-Nya dengan bersungguh-sungguh. Jangan suka berputus asa, hai kawan, tetapi berusahalah terus."

Pada keesokan harinya, Imam Abu Hanifah melalui lagi rumah itu dan suara keluhan itu kedengaran lagi, "Ya Allah, Tuhan Yang Maha Belas Kasihan dan Pemurah, sudilah kiranya memberikan bungkusan lain seperti kelmarin, sekadar untuk mengenyangkan hidupku ang melarat ini. Sungguh jika Tuhan tidak beri, akan lebih sengsaralah hidupku, wahai untung nasibku."

Mendengar keluhan itu lagi, maka Abu Hanifah pun lalu melemparkan lagi bungkusan berisi wang dan secebis kertas dari luar jendela itu, lalu dia pun meneruskan perjalanannya. Orang itu terlalu riang sebaik sahaja mendapat bungkusan itu. Lantas terus membukanya.

Seperti dahulu juga, di dalam bungkusan itu tetap ada cebisan kertas lalu dibacanya, "Hai kawan, bukan begitu cara bermohon, bukan demikan cara berikhtiar dan berusaha. Perbuatan demikian 'malas' namanya. Putusa asa kepada kebenaran dan kekuasaan Allah. Sungguh tidak redha Tuhan melihat orang pemalas dan berputus asa, enggan bekerja untuk keselamatan dirinya. Jangan...jangan berbuat demikian. Hendak senang mesti suka pada bekerja dan berusaha kerana kesenangan itu tidak mungkin datang sendiri tanpa dicari atau diusahakan. Orang hidup tidak perlu atau disuruh duduk diam tetapi harus bekerja dan berusaha. Allah tidak akan perkenankan permohonan orang yang malas bekerja. Allah tidak akan mengabulkan doa orang yang berputus asa. Sebab itu, carilah pekerjaan yang halal untuk kesenangan dirimu. Berikhtiarlah sedapat mungkin dengan pertolongan Allah. InsyaAllah, akan dapat juga pekerjaan itu selama kamu tidak berputus asa. Nah...carilah segera pekerjaan, saya doakan lekas berjaya."

Sebaik sahaja dia selesai membaca surat itu, dia termenung, dia insaf dan sedar akan kemalasannya yang selama ini dia tidak suka berikhtiar dan berusaha.

Pada keesokan harinya, dia pun keluar dari rumahnya untuk mencari pekerjaan. Sejak dari hari itu, sikapnya pun berubah, mengikut peraturan-peraturan hidup (Sunnah Tuhan) dan tidak lagi melupai nasihat orang yang memberikan nasihat itu.

Dalam Islam tiada istilah penggangguran, istilah ini hanya digunakan oleh orang yang berakal sempit. Islam mengajar kita untuk maju ke hadapan dan bukan mengajar kita tersadai di tepi jalan.

            Peter is a naughty and lazy boy.  He never listens to his parents and teachers. He does not do his school work and likes to disturb his friends.

            On morning, instead of going to school, Peter went for a swim at the mine nearby. He swam towards the middle of the mine. Suddenly the water was too deep for him. Soon, he was gasping for air and frantically screamed for help.

Fortunately, a farmer passed by and saw Peter struggling in the water. He quickly jumped and saved Peter. Peter had learnt his lesson the hard way.

My Sister’s Wedding

            Today is my sister’s wedding. We have been busy preparing for this big day two months ago. Our house is crowded with relatives and friends who have come to help and make the occasion merrier.

            The guests arrive at noon. Many of them bring presents for my sister. At 2.00 pm, we heard the beat of the “kompang”. The groom  is led to the beautifully decorated dais to be seated next to the bride.

In the evening, everyone helps to clean up the house including the newly weds. Although it is very tiring, I can see that everyone had a wonderful time.

A Good Deed

            It was Monday morning. Adilah dan Fahmi decided to go to town to buy some books. As they were walking to the bookshop, they saw an old woman crying on the sidewalk.

            They went near the old woman and saw that her hand was bleeding. The old woman told them that a snatch thief had snatched her handbag.

            The old woman fell when she tried to fight for her handbag. Adilah felt sorry for the woman and they took her to the nearby clinic.

The woman was grateful to them.
